How To Get Here

MBTA Subway Service - Silver Line Waterfront

Conveniently located at South Station, take the Silver Line Waterfront (SL2) to the Boston Design Center.

Parking

Boston Design Center maintains an automated visitor parking lot off of Drydock Avenue adjacent to the BDC. Payment for parking by credit only is collected at the lot exit gate. Hourly rates apply from 8 am to 9 pm. Trade professionals may have tickets validated at the concierge desk on floor one, BDC West. Please be prepared to show ID and business card.

Short term 90 minute visitor parking is available in designated spaces across from the building entry off Drydock Avenue.

There is no visitor parking in the front courtyard or on the south side of the building. Visitor parking is not permitted in reserved or permit parking spaces. Parking regulations are strictly enforced. Violators will be towed.

Dining at the BDC

Visit Chickadee, the award-winning, Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar for dinner or cocktails. For a quicker breakfast or lunch, visit Flour Bakery + Cafe. Other dining options along the building’s Promenade include:

  • Al’s Cafe - Subs, sandwiches, and wraps. Mon-Fri, 10:30 am-3:00 pm

  • Chickadee Restaurant - New England born and Mediterranean inspired full-service restaurant and bar. Mon-Thu, drinks 4:00 pm, dinner 5:00 pm-9:00 pm. Fri-Sat, dinner 5:00 pm-10:00 pm

  • The Chicken & Rice Guys - Protein bowls with rice, greens, and tasty sauce. Mon-Fri, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • Flour Bakery + Café - Fresh sandwiches, salads, baked goods, pastries, café beverages, and daily specials. Mon-Fri 7:00 am-3:00 pm

  • Indian Street Cravings - Traditional Indian street food. Mon-Fri 11:00 am-2:00 pm

  • Mayday - Open seasonally during the summer, cocktails from the Chickadee guys. Tue-Fri, 4:00 pm-9:00 pm

Everyone is welcome at the Boston Design Center. If you need an interior designer to guide you, we have a welcoming and knowledgeable Design Services team to help you.

Designer Lounge

Located on the 2nd floor, you'll find a relaxing space for client meetings. Our meeting tables provide ample room to review design documents.

The Innovation and Design Building is home to a diverse mix of companies and entrepreneurs, including architects and engineers, skilled makers and craftspeople, research and development firms, and technology start-ups. Boston Design Center, Reebok, America’s Test Kitchen, Autodesk, EPAM Continuum, Ginkgo Bioworks, Neoscape, Elkus Manfredi Architects and The Boston Beer Company are just some of the tenants at the Innovation and Design Building. The complex is conveniently located along the MBTA Silver Line route, just minutes from South Station, and is flanked by one of the country’s largest working dry docks to the north and by the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal to the south.
